Don’t be Held Prisoner by the Dealer

Buying a new vehicle can be equal parts exhilarating, and equal parts terrifying. There’s nothing like driving off the lot with a grin from ear to ear in your new wheels. For 36,000 miles, you get to have the peace of mind knowing your vehicle is brand spanking new, and should have no issues. If it does have any issues, you can drive it on into the dealer, and they will repair it under warranty.

But what happens after 36,000 miles? Or, whenever your manufacturer warranty is up? Do you need to continue to go to the dealer for repairs? How about maintenance? Do you need to get your maintenance done there for the warranty to be valid?

NOPE!

Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) states that it is illegal for the manufacturer, or dealerships, to void the warranty if any repairs or maintenance are done at an independent repair shop. This includes anything performed during that 36,000 mile warranty period and beyond. This means, Precision Automotive is able to take care of your vehicle beginning at mile 1.

I know you can feel hesitant to bring in your new Toyota, Honda, or GM vehicle, either out of fear from voiding the warranty, or because you may think the dealer knows best. Don’t worry, we’re not offended, it’s unfortunately what’s been ingrained in our brains from the start. I was personally under the belief that no one else would carry the parts needed for my new GMC, or even the fluids for a simple oil change. This is simply not the case. We have over 30 types of fluid on hand from engine oil to transmission fluid – all manufacture specific. Whether your vehicle has 3,000 or 300,000 miles, we have the right tools and equipment to get you handled.

If you have recently purchased a newer vehicle, or plan to in the future – come on by! First of all, I’d love to go for a spin! Secondly, let’s talk about it. We can help you decide which vehicle best suites your needs, without the creepy sales guy pitch.

Next time you’re due for service, give us a call, or shoot over an email. We promise to exceed your expectations every time! What are you waiting for!
